Caerphilly Castle

We made a short trip out of Cardiff to visit Caerphilly Castle.  It's the largest castle in Wales and maybe one of the best I've visited.
It has great atmosphere, right?  And a real moat still surrounds it!
At some point the castle was bombed, but mostly it just burned the insides and stayed intact.  There is one tower that is leaning significantly (more than Pisa!).  Someone clever created this wooden statue guy to hold it up.  Jess and I helped him.
During the hour of sunshine we had that day!
Me, Jess, Lizzie.
Speaking of Jess, she bought a wooden sword in the gift shop for all our photography fun needs at the Castle.  Attacking the enemy...
Killing the invaders. Best picture prop ever and inspiring me to think of other places we could use a sword!
About 15 minutes after we left the Castle, it clouded over and rained most of the rest of the day. We felt lucky to have such a beautiful morning to see what we did!
